Job summary

Loblaw Digital, based in Downtown Toronto, is seeking a Senior Manager, BI and Analytics Engineering to lead analytics engineers and shape the analytics strategy across the business.

You will build scalable data foundations, enable self-service analytics with governed datasets and semantic layers, and apply AI to analytics, partnering with product, technology, data and business teams to drive measurable impact.

The hiring range is CAD 120,000 to 154,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, analytics, product analytics or BI, including people leadership.
• Strong SQL, data modeling and analytics engineering skills, with experience using cloud data platforms and tools such as BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt or similar.
• Experience enabling self-service analytics through well-governed datasets, semantic layers and BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI or similar.
• Experience applying AI and generative AI to analytics, with an understanding of validation, data quality and responsible governance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical or business-related field; advanced degree is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of analytics engineers and analytics professionals.
• Define and evolve Analytics Engineering strategy, standards and roadmap across Loblaw Digital.
• Build trusted, scalable analytics foundations through reusable data models, consistent metrics, testing, documentation and data quality.
• Champion analytics engineering best practices, including modular modeling, version control, CI/CD and code review.
• Drive self-service and AI-enabled analytics through well-governed datasets, semantic layers and intuitive tools.
• Use customer, product and business analytics to identify opportunities, diagnose issues and measure impact.
• Partner across Data, Engineering, Product, Marketing, Trading and business teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions and actionable insights.
