Job summary

Epic Ideas Inc. is seeking a Payments Analyst to join our e-commerce team. You will support payments operations across traditional and alternative channels, monitor transactions, and help ensure accurate reconciliation in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Finance, Customer Service, and Development to resolve inquiries, implement fraud prevention measures, stay current on regulations, and contribute to process improvements that enhance the customer payment experience.

Qualifications

• College diploma or Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or Business; 5 years in a finance/payments-related role.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret and analyze transaction data.
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions and reconciliations.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms, payment gateways and processing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day payments operations: monitor transactions, reconcile accounts, and resolve payment issues.
• Monitor payment gateways and troubleshoot technical issues or errors.
• Analyze payment data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with Finance, Customer Service and Development to address inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in fraud prevention measures and risk management strategies.
• Stay informed about regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices related to payments and security.
• Document payment processes, policies and procedures for reference and training.
• Support ad-hoc projects related to payments optimization and system enhancements.
• Contribute ideas to improve efficiency and customer payment experience.
• Collaborate with external payment service providers to optimize processing and reduce costs.
