PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Analyst Real Estate undertakes basic tasks associated with the region’s responsibilities, including negotiating and coordinating fixed fee and revenue agreement types. The role also involves shared administrative tasks such as document control and managing shared inboxes.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Facilitates third-party use of non-surplus, underutilized properties by engaging with internal stakeholders to verify surplus status and ensure proposed use does not impact railroad operations.
  2. Negotiates real estate agreements to maximize returns and minimize liability, including agreements for access and temporary use.
  3. Assists with real property aspects of CP projects by providing expertise on acquisitions, development, and disposition of real property interests.
  4. Researches historical agreements, property ownership, and title status using various resources.
  5. Handles administrative tasks related to real estate agreements, including document management and inquiry management for the region.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including negotiating terms of legal agreements with limited impact.
  2. Ability to quickly interpret legal documents with basic comprehension.
  3. Strong time management and organizational skills.
