Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. We operate GO Transit, UP Express, and the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new rapid transit projects, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to improve transportation efficiency. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Position Overview: As a Project Controls Analyst, reporting to a management team member within various CPG Program Control programs, you will support project controls activities by gathering, reviewing, and collating data related to estimating, scheduling, cost control, risk management, document control, change management, quality management, and reporting. Collaborating with the Project Controls Team and CPG, you will develop and validate data accuracy, ensuring completeness and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop procedures and processes for project controls governance across the CPG program.
  2. Coordinate activities within a matrixed organization involving multiple work groups for project controls deliverables.
  3. Prepare and maintain monthly project control reports such as cost & budget reports, project metrics dashboards, and presentations.
  4. Handle activities across one or multiple CPG program control disciplines as needed.
  5. Generate analysis reports for program-level updates.
  6. Identify issues like critical path changes and float reduction, providing solutions based on analysis.
  7. Interface with PDT team members to compile project details and provide status updates.
  8. Prepare monthly performance reports for senior management review.
  9. Maintain and develop procedures for CPG Program governance.
  10. Foster collaborative relationships within the project controls team, including estimating, scheduling, risk management, and other disciplines.
  11. Adapt to various working environments with multiple stakeholders, ensuring positive communication.
  12. Adhere to quality standards and proactively suggest process improvements.
  13. Support continuous improvement initiatives within project controls.
  14. Contribute to data analysis and support achievement of KPIs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Engineering, Technology, Science, Project Management, Business, or Finance.
  2. Experience in project/business/technical settings, including engineering, procurement, construction, finance, operation, or maintenance.
  3. Experience in project control or project management environments; EPC or EPCM experience is an asset.
  4. Attention to detail and deadline-oriented.
  5. Strong planning, organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  6. Experience with tools like Active Risk Register (ARM), Primavera P6, CostX, Unifier, ProjectWise is an asset.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively in a large team.
  8. Willingness to cross-train in various project control disciplines.
  9. Lean or continuous improvement mindset.
