PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Be Part of an Award-Winning Team! CPKC’s Pension Team—winner of the 2025 CEO Award for Excellence—is seeking an Analyst, Pension System to support the administration of Canadian and U.S. retirement plans. You'll handle reporting, data accuracy, assist with transactions, and help ensure compliance in a fast-paced, impactful role.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Complete Canadian and U.S. employee and pension payroll activities, reconciliations and contribution processing for defined benefit, defined contribution, 401(k) plans, and regulatory filings
  • Validate employee pension and retirement plans setup, and proper interface transfers to third party vendors
  • Support internal and external audits by gathering data and documentation
  • Help monitor compliance with ERISA, IRS and DOL rules in the U.S., and with Canadian federal and provincial pension regulations
  • Perform calculation of qualified and non-qualified allocations and arrange for payment and account updates
  • Identify systematic gaps and master data issues related to pension data and request appropriate updates
  • Maintain pension documentation and processing for departmental workflow and employee online documents
  • Collaborate with HR, Employee, Payroll, Benefits and Legal departments to prepare documentation and ensure alignment across programs
  • Perform Canadian and US year-end activities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related fields (or equivalent work experience)
  • Working towards professional CEBS designations is an asset
  • 2 years of experience in pension administration (exposure to both Canada and U.S. plans preferred)
  • Familiarity with Canadian pension legislations and/or ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations (U.S.)

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
