About The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Operations, the Analyst supports the investment accounting and operational activities of CAAT’s public investment portfolio. Responsibilities include assisting with the monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, including the preparation of accounting schedules, reconciliations, journal entries, and quarter-end reporting.

As The Newest Member Of Our Team, You’ll

• Support the accounting close process, including the preparation of reconciliations, journal entries, and quarter-end reports.
• Prepare fee calculations for management and incentive fees
• Prepare monthly pricing schedules for hedge funds and coordinate with the custodian (CIBC Mellon) to ensure accurate capture in the accounting records
• Assist with the onboarding process for new investments for the Investment Operations side; initiate account openings with custodian (including market opening / global tax documentation), prepare KYC / FATCA / CRS documentation.
• Support the quarterly and annual financial reporting processes for the CAAT Pension Plan and RCA Plan, and assist with audit-related tasks as needed
• Develop and maintain a solid understanding of CAAT's portfolio
• Be a key point of contact for ad-hoc inquiries relating to public markets and hedge fund accounting data

To Succeed, You Bring

• University degree or College Diploma or equivalent in accounting, finance, business administration or related discipline
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in accounting and / or finance within a pension plan, institutional asset manager, financial services, or accounting firm
• Completion or working towards a CPA, CFA, CAIA or other relevant designation is considered an asset
• Knowledge of IFRS and accounting best practices
• Exceptional relationship-builder with strong interpersonal skills, actively seeking partnerships and teamwork to achieve shared goals
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong adaptability to learn new software and systems.
• Experience with SAP Accounting Software, CIBC Mellon Custody Services, Python, VBA, and Power BI is considered an asset
