Key Responsibilities:- Preparing journal entries impacting various accounting cycles (e.g. Sales/AR, Expense/AP, Intercompany management fees and chargebacks, Prepaids, Capital assets, Payroll, other)
- Preparing bank account reconciliations as part of the financial reporting process with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation;
- Preparing monthly and year-end working papers with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation for annual financial reporting and audit purposes;
- Assisting with cash forecasting and accounts payable activities;
- Preparing funding requests and wire instructions for transfers of cash between bank accounts on a timely basis;
- Preparing schedules and reports requested by Investment Finance and Corporate Financial Reporting;
- Preparing variance analysis on financial data;
- Preparing regulatory reports including reports to Statistics Canada, U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, Office for National Statistics and CRA;
- Assisting in accounting research and finance issues as assigned and providing summary reports;
- Assisting with the development and implementation of budgets and forecasts;
- Preparing quarterly/annual financial statements, with covenant ratio calculations as required;
- Assisting with tax filings when required; and
- Participating in special projects or duties, as required.
To Succeed In This Role, You Have:- University degree in Business or related discipline;
- Enrolment in Chartered Professional Accountant program;
- Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS accounting is preferred;
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel (intermediate to advanced level);
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- A strong team player able to operate in a fast-paced environment with numerous priorities and deadlines with effective organization time management skills;
- Oracle experience preferred.
