Your Role : We are looking for an experienced Part-Time CFO to assist in creating and registering a new CIRO Dealer Member, acting as a registered introducing / carrying investment dealer. This role is pivotal in our regulatory application process and will evolve into a full-time position upon approval. The CFO will work closely with the President / CEO to build the team, policies, and procedures necessary for compliance and operational success, overseeing financial regulatory filings, capital adequacy, and financial reporting, in collaboration with the parent company's CFO and Comptroller.

Key Responsibilities :

• Broker-Dealer Application : Lead financial efforts for the CIRO Investment Dealer application, ensuring all requirements are met.
• Daily Responsibilities : Monitor assets, risks, and controls, including capital, bank reconciliations, and fund disbursements.
• Financial Regulatory Management : Ensure timely and accurate financial filings and compliance with disclosure obligations.
• Regulatory Engagement : Communicate with regulators such as CIRO and OSC, managing notifications and interactions.
• Policy Development : Develop and maintain policies and documentation as per regulatory standards.
• Training Deployment : Oversee staff training on regulatory obligations.
• Reporting and Escalation : Provide updates on financial activities and escalate issues as needed.
• Team Building : Collaborate with leadership to recruit and develop the finance team.
• Strategic Leadership : Manage relationships with stakeholders for a cohesive financial approach.
• Projects : Support new initiatives and regulatory obligations implementation.

Job Requirements :

• Minimum 5+ years of senior financial leadership experience.
• CSI CFO Qualifying Examination completion.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, law, or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Financial Accounting and CRA Tax Requirements.
• Experience with CIRO, OSC, and related regulations, including risk capital and early warning rules.
• Technical expertise in trade lifecycle management and broker platform implementation.
• Ability to manage banking operations and regulatory capital impacts.
• Proven internal controls development, audit management, and collaboration with remote teams.
• Excellent communication skills and strategic decision-making capabilities.
• High ethical standards and confidentiality commitment.
