Job summary

Calgary Airports is seeking an Environmental Data Analyst to join the Environment & Sustainability team in a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days working from home). You will collect, validate, and analyze environmental data across GHG emissions, energy use, water quality, and waste, and prepare reports and dashboards for regulatory submissions and executive stakeholders.

Salary: Band 9; $103,701.00

Status: Full-time permanent Unionized

Work environment: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH). Employees must be available to work in the office up to five (5) days per week when required to support business priorities.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
  • Gather, validate, analyze, and maintain environmental and sustainability data related to greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, water quality and usage, waste diversion, climate performance, biodiversity, air quality, noise management, environmental compliance, and other key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) indicators.
  • Prepare environmental and sustainability reports, greenhouse gas inventories, ESG disclosures, sustainability performance dashboards, benchmarking submissions, regulatory reports, accreditation documentation, and executive materials that support compliance, transparency, strategic decision-making, and stakeholder reporting requirements.
  • Maintain environmental databases, reporting templates, tracking tools, spreadsheets, and documentation that support consistent, accurate, and traceable environmental reporting.
  • Analyze environmental and sustainability performance indicators, identify trends, risks, opportunities, data discrepancies, and emerging issues, and provide recommendations that improve environmental performance, climate resilience, resource efficiency, and organizational sustainability outcomes.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring, inspections, field assessments, and program tracking activities related to emissions, waste diversion, water consumption, air quality, noise management, and other environmental programs.
  • Work with internal departments, contractors, consultants, tenants, service providers, and airport partners to collect environmental performance information, resolve reporting inconsistencies, and strengthen accountability for environmental outcomes.
  • Prepare technical summaries, presentations, briefing materials, dashboards, and environmental performance updates that communicate results, priorities, and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Track regulatory and program-specific reporting requirements, including water quality, emissions reporting, greenhouse gas inventories, Airport Carbon Accreditation, and other environmental performance programs.
What Do You Need To Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, Geography, Sustainability Studies, or a related discipline is required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 4-6 years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental monitoring, environmental consulting, sustainability programs, or a related environmental field is required.
  • Experience preparing regulatory, environmental, sustainability, greenhouse gas, or ESG reporting, including reviewing supporting calculations, assumptions, and documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Working knowledge of environmental monitoring, data collection, validation processes, regulatory compliance requirements, GHG accounting, Airport Carbon Accreditation, Federal NPRI and GHGRP reporting, and sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and environmental/data management reporting tools, such as Power BI or similar tools, to develop reports, dashboards, data analyses, ESG disclosures, regulatory submissions, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal departments, contractors, consultants, regulators, and tenants to improve environmental performance and reporting outcomes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to coordinate reporting schedules, monitoring activities, data collection requirements, and regulatory deliverables while managing multiple priorities.
  • As this position is considered safety-sensitive, candidates must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as part of the hiring process.
  • This role includes driving as part of its duties; therefore, candidates will be required to provide a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract as part of the hiring process.
What Additional Skills Are An Asset
  • Professional environmental designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting environmental programs in a complex operational, municipal, industrial, transportation, infrastructure, or airport environment.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as TCFD and IFRS Sustainability Standards.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
