Job summary

HUB International in Burnaby is seeking an Analyst to provide financial analysis of carrier and client statements, support day-to-day data administration, and deliver high-level commentary on work.

Based at our Burnaby Still Creek head office, you will work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reports, develop automation ideas, and maintain confidentiality while growing your career in the insurance industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Computer Science.
  • Experience with group benefits or insurance.
  • Completion of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP).

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely data for client renewal reports from internal and external sources.
  • Conduct renewal analysis and negotiate fees with carriers in alignment with department strategy.
  • Review client claim history data from providers and ensure all required reports are collected.
  • Review and verify financial statements and perform quote analyses for the team.
  • Manage assigned accounts and represent HUB and its values in company events and presentations.

What We’re Looking For

The Analyst works closely with the team to provide financial analysis of carrier and client statements, assist in the day-to-day data administration as well as supporting and providing high-level analysis and detailed commentary over their work. Our Burnaby Still Creek head office location is centrally located in the Willingdon Business Park near The Amazing Brentwood. This location is easily accessible by the Gilmore sky train station with many shops, restaurants and other amenities nearby.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and timely data for client renewal reports obtained from internal and external sources
  • Conduct renewal analysis, negotiate fees and rates with carriers – in alignment with department strategy
  • As required, review client claim history data from providers – working alongside the team to ensure all required reports are collected
  • Review and verify financial statements for accuracy, as well as perform quote analyses on behalf of the team
  • Actively manage all assigned accounts, and represent HUB and our values in all company and/or carrier events and presentations.
  • Handle confidential information and data – adhering to HUB’s privacy and confidentiality agreement
  • Develop innovative methods to improve processes via automation and technology platforms
  • Create user friendly templates and utilize available software to simplify processes for the team
Skills, Characteristics & Qualifications

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheets, data tables, and formula development Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional team environments Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated experience in diagnosing issues and developing innovative solutions Proven ability to interpret and analyze numerical datasets to identify trends and resolve discrepancies Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver results within time-sensitive deadlines

Asset experience to have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration or Computer Science
  • Experience working with group benefits or insurance
  • Completion of the Life License Qualification Program (LLQP).

The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
