Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • CPA designation or training towards CPA.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a corporate reporting role.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP preferred.
  • ERP/SAP, BPC, Excel, Workiva experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Account for daily bank transactions, monitor bank accounts, and cash management.
  • Complete monthly bank and outstanding disbursement reconciliations.
  • Prepare and document complex journal entries for tax and intercompany financial transactions.
  • Assist with month end close and external quarterly reporting, including notes and MD&A.
  • Identify process improvements to support timely close and forecast accuracy.
  • Address auditor and internal reviewer queries.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Analyst Corporate Reporting is primarily responsible for the accounting of daily bank transactions, recording intercompany financial transactions, performing balance sheet account reconciliation, assisting with monthly close and quarterly disclosure processes, and maintaining stakeholder relationships with the Treasury and Tax departments.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Account for daily bank transactions, monitor bank accounts, and cash management
  • Complete monthly bank and outstanding disbursement reconciliations
  • Prepare and document complex journal entries pertaining to tax and intercompany financial transactions
  • Assist with month end close and external quarterly reporting, including preparation of financial statement notes and MD&A
  • Identify process improvements that support a timely close, forecast accuracy, and ability to report
  • Assess and research implications of significant financial transactions
  • Identify, analyze and reconcile inconsistent information and recommend adjustments where necessary
  • Ensure financial reporting is in compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), Tax or securities regulation, as applicable
  • Ensure accounting and reporting process complies with applicable internal control (SOX) requirements
  • Address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
  • CPA designated or training towards a CPA designation
  • At least 2 years of experience in a corporate reporting role
  • Knowledge of US GAAP requirements, desirable
  • Application Expertise (desirable): ERP/SAP, BPC, Excel, Workiva
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
