Job summary

CPKC is seeking an Analyst Employee Services to support employee master data in the HRIS and ensure accurate payroll readiness. You will handle data entry, onboarding inputs, and promote process improvements across HR workflows.

The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work with employees at all levels. Unionized workforce support and relocation processing are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, HR, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Payroll certification is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of SAP ECC HR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter employee master data into HRIS with high accuracy.
  • Enter employee data into SuccessFactors Onboarding timely for Day 1 readiness.
  • Manage class lists for unionized employees including hotel and travel bookings.
  • Create offer letters for unionized employees with high accuracy.
  • Update organization data including positions and job codes.
  • Review HR records for payroll accuracy before deadlines.
  • Review executive pay against compensation details for accuracy.
  • Initiate relocations with providers and process related payments.
  • Follow checklists and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Meet work quotas per shift and educate users on forms.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Analyst Employee Services is responsible for supporting and maintaining employee master data within the CPKC HRIS system, which includes data entry, transaction processing, and process improvement. An emphasis is placed on quality, on time delivery, and continuous improvement of each and every process that this position is involved in.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Data entry of employee master data into the CPKC HRIS system with a high degree of accuracy
  • Data entry of employee data into SuccessFactors Onboarding tool timely and accurately ensuring new hires have a successful day 1
  • Management of class lists for unionized employees including booking hotel and travel arrangements
  • Creation of offer letters for unionized employees with a high degree of accuracy
  • Process org management updates including position management, creation of job/positions, and position table updates
  • Review and approve key HR records (pay, pension etc.) against source documentation created by unionized employees for accuracy prior to payroll deadlines with precise attention to detail
  • Review executive pay against compensation details to ensure payroll accuracy
  • Initiate relocations with the relocation provider, and process payments and other relocation related entries
  • Follow checklists to perform transactions and ensure they are up to date. Highlight improvement opportunities to managers
  • Delivery against work quotas per shift
  • Enforce the use of forms, and educate employees and managers on how to use the forms to ensure that the team has the proper data and authorization to process
  • Review and produce scheduled and adhoc reports
  • Identify recommendations for continuous improvement of own work in terms of quality, cost or timeliness
  • Monitor adherence to HR policies, time input standards, legislation, regulations, standards, and programs
  • Communicating process standards, processing cycles, schedules, deadlines, service offering changes, etc. to stakeholders
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in benefits or payroll administration preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Human Resources, Computer Science or a related discipline; Payroll certification is preferred but not required
  • Understanding of SAP ECC HR preferred
  • Proven analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Communication, relationship and project management abilities
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
