Led by entrepreneur Som Seif, the company is developing a diversified product platform to address historically underserved market segments. Purpose Unlimited’s businesses include Purpose Investments, Advisor Solutions by Purpose, and Driven.

Role Summary:

We are hiring an Analyst to join Purpose’s Corporate Strategy & Development team. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Development, you will be responsible for supporting, developing, and executing our strategic vision and corporate initiatives, working alongside senior executives across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity with one of Canada’s leading growth-focused financial services companies. The position will entail meaningful responsibility and autonomy, and the chosen candidate will play a critical role in driving continued growth across the Purpose platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with senior executives and business unit leaders to support the development and execution of the company’s strategic initiatives.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and execution of potential M&A and investment opportunities, including financial modeling, due diligence, valuation, synergy assessment, and project management of the integration of acquisitions.
  • Preparing presentations to business unit leaders, senior executives, and other stakeholders, including quarterly board reports, internal monthly reporting packages, and marketing materials.
  • Collaborating with others on the development and execution of long-term capital structure planning, including supporting the investor relations function and assisting with banking relationships.
  • Regular monitoring and understanding of the organization’s business performance, KPIs, and trends.
  • Researching, monitoring, and assessing industry/market trends, competitive landscape, and potential M&A targets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of full-time relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction advisory, or private equity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
  • While not a prerequisite, experience in financial services is also considered an asset.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation.
  • Self-starter with an ability to work in a high-performance and entrepreneurial environment – takes ownership and initiative to drive projects to completion and a high degree of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills, and ability to work collaboratively with senior executives and other Purpose employees.
