Purpose

Provide analytical and operational contract support to category management team by managing complex contractual data, executing category-wide sourcing strategies, ensuring regional contracts compliance with all relevant standards, aligning with global procurement strategies and supporting the overall success of operations across multiple sites and categories. We have 4 new openings on our team.

Essential Duties
  • Manage the full lifecycle of contracts to support category strategy execution, from contract initiation and drafting to performance monitoring, amendment and close-out.
  • Assist the Category Management Advisors and Team Leads with the development, maintenance and execution of contracts aligned with category strategies and operational realities, ensuring timely availability of goods and services.
  • Liaise with Regional Category Management and Site Supply Chain teams to ensure contract frameworks developed at the category level are feasible and tailored to operational realities, actively coordinating with Legal, Risk, HSE and Finance functions to ensure contracts are compliant, commercially sound and aligned with company policies and standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Materials Management, Inventory, Transportation & Logistics and Warehousing teams to ensure contract terms align with stock policies, delivery schedules, and handling capacity.
  • Work closely with the Indigenous Procurement team to embed local content and social inclusion objectives into applicable contracts and sourcing events, tracking progress and compliance.
  • Strengthen supplier collaboration and support supplier relationship management (SRM) efforts by practicing open communication, timely resolution of any contract-related or performance issues and favorable negotiations of any changes to contract terms.
  • Serve as a conduit between regional execution and global category teams, working closely with Category Advisors and Team Leads, by providing data, insights and feedback to improve strategy development and supplier engagement.
  • Analyze and interpret contract performance metrics across multiple suppliers and sites, identifying trends, risks and optimization opportunities, and solving risks associated with contracts including potential legal liabilities and performance issues.
  • Develop dashboards and regular reports to track contract status, key performance indicators (KPIs) performance, contract value delivery, and adherence to ESG, safety, and regulatory commitments, contributing to the development of regional procurement methodologies by offering insights based on contract performance.
Training & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Law, Engineering, or related field.

  • 3–5+ years’ experience in contract management, procurement, or category management, preferably in industrial or resource sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of contract lifecycle, commercial terms, and compliance requirements.

  • Proficient in contract or procurement systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle) and data reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Experience collaborating with Legal, Risk, HSE, and Finance teams.

  • Familiarity with ESG and Indigenous/local procurement requirements is an asset.

  • Relevant professional designation (e.g., SCMP, CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage.

Working Conditions

This is a remote role with flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada; however, the successful candidate must be available to work during Pacific Time Zone (BC) business hours. Occasional travel may be required to support site or regional procurement activities.

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $79,200-98,940. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
