As an Analyst in BCI’s Compliance Office, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our compliance capabilities through data-driven insights and technology-enabled solutions. Leveraging your strong analytical mindset and compliance experience, you will support key functions including regulatory obligations, investment compliance, and internal training and awareness programs.
You will also be instrumental in identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across the compliance function. This includes contributing to the development of dashboards, automation tools, and data analytics frameworks that reinforce BCI’s commitment to operational excellence and long-term value creation.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITHThe Legal Affairs department provides legal guidance to the Board, management, and all departments within BCI. They provide legal advice and support for transactional, investment and operational activities, advise on contractual, legal and regulatory requirements and issues, and manage corporate entities and records .
The Compliance team fosters a culture of prudent risk management and compliance that assists BCI in carrying out its asset management goals with integrity and in accordance with its regulatory, legal and ethical responsibilities. The team implements compliance risk mitigation measures, provides compliance awareness and training to the corporation, conducts compliance monitoring and testing, and submits periodic reports to BCI’s Board of Directors on the performance of its compliance program .
WHAT YOU BRINGA degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Law, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, or financial services, with demonstrated comfort using technology
Proficiency in Power BI (Tableau or similar tools is a plus)
Advanced Excel skills, with experience in data analysis and visualization
Familiarity with Material Non-Public Information (MNPI) programs and controls
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to turn data into clear, actionable insights
Solid financial and business judgment
Clear, effective communication skills—both written and verbal—with experience presenting to varied audiences
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Experience with Bloomberg AIM or similar investment compliance platforms
Background in asset management or financial services
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course, or willingness to complete it upon hire
Familiarity with financial industry regulations and marketplace rules
Monitor, analyze, and interpret data to assess compliance risks and performance
Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools using Power BI and Excel
Collaborate with teams across the organization to resolve compliance-related issues
Support investment compliance processes, including trade monitoring and due diligence
Assist with regulatory filings, inquiries, and MNPI program oversight
Prepare reports and presentations that communicate compliance insights clearly
Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and training materials
Identify opportunities to automate and improve compliance systems and workflows
Lead or support special projects that enhance the effectiveness of the compliance program
Promote a strong compliance culture through relationship-building and thoughtful guidance
This role is based in our downtown Victoria or Vancouver office. BCI is an in-person, collaborative organization with the flexibility to work remotely one day per week.
SALARY RANGEBCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.
The annualized base salary range for this role is CAD $ 90 ,000 to $ 109 ,000 .
The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.
We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.
