Salary range: The salary range for this position is CAD $34.67 - $49.83 / hour.

We have a permanent Business analyst position to support the Medical Imaging and MICY (Maternity Infant Child Youth) departments within Fraser Health.

- Support the implementation and uptake of specialized electronic clinical solutions used in patient imaging and maternal care ultrasound and fetal surveillance.
- Act as a liaison for the clinical areas within the assigned portfolio and support the clinical area’s technical needs while adhering to best practices in information technology and change management.
- Support Business Process Reengineering concepts, methods and technologies that enable integration of clinical and business workflows across core clinical systems at Fraser Health, and numerous other regional and provincial integration initiatives.
- Translate clinical and business needs into application requirements based on your knowledge of project management processes and the systems development lifecycle.
- Support analysis and documentation of business requirements for client-facing and internal Informatics services delivery processes for business, clinical, and systems support services within Fraser Health.
- Improve operational support and sustainment of enterprise systems within the portfolio.
- Assist with the analysis of system performance and the development of capacity plans for assigned clinical applications.
- Support operational requirements by performing tasks such as developing and maintaining technical and functional documentation according to departmental standards.
An asset to this role would be:
- Experience in healthcare with a focus on clinical IT systems and operational support.
- Knowledge of digital health messaging standards, including HL7.
- Technical knowledge about servers' backend infrastructure and maintenance.

The Business Analyst provides support in one or more specific areas in medical imaging and MICY. The business analyst will use business process reengineering concepts and methods, and provide documentation of business requirements on portfolio specific projects. Provides analyst support for all phases of assigned systems development and implementation projects including providing hands-on application support. May lead small information systems projects.
Responsibilities
- Provides systems analysis by participating in the establishment of system scope and objectives, conducting feasibility studies, planning or modifying procedures to solve system problems, and preparing detailed specifications for development work. Solves existing systems logic difficulties as required.
- Provides business analysis by performing functions such as work flow analysis, developing business information requirements and models, assisting in defining business scope and objectives, planning, designing, or modifying practical manual and automated business procedures.
- Under the direction of the Senior business analyst or Lead on the team, participates in information systems projects by providing business systems analysis support. May lead small projects.
- Serves on a variety of Fraser Health wide health service delivery area, task groups, internal working teams and clinical projects.
- Maintains knowledge of infrastructure and technologies by remaining aware of current and new technologies.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Health Information Systems Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Four years of recent, related experience in a medium to large sized organization. Experience with acute care electronic health information systems, such as the Meditech system, is preferred.
