Job Title : Quality Assurance Investigator
Duration : 12 month contract
Location : Montreal, QC
Responsibilities :
- Assess metrics to identify and pull relevant samples for Quality Assurance reviews.
- Conduct monthly targeted AML and Sanctions Quality Assurance reviews under the direction of the Head of the Quality Assurance team to assess compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies, aiming to identify, report, and prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and market abuse activities.
- Escalate potential issues and exception items noted during reviews to management for further investigation.
- Prepare and distribute monthly QA reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Ensure all findings are entered into the QA Reporting & Issue Tracker and follow up on open issues.
- Assist in developing regional compliance QA review programs based on applicable laws and policies.
- Conduct or assist with special investigations and projects as needed.
- Assist during examinations by regulators and internal auditors.
- Be cross-trained on all regional QA program streams to assist with volume spikes and coverage needs.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a financial services firm or self-regulatory organization in AML, KYC, Sanctions, or audit / testing functions.
- Strong knowledge of AML, KYC, Sanctions; familiarity with USA PATRIOT Act, AML Reform Act, OFAC / UN / French Sanctions, and U.S. securities and banking regulations is a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and work in a challenging environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with staff and management.
- Analytical and investigative skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple reviews and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of regulations and their impact on trading activities and operations.
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel), SharePoint; Actimize knowledge is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree required; ACAMS or similar certification is a plus.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and escalate regulatory issues and risks.
