Petite Girafe Montessori in Surrey, BC (AMI trainee site) seeks an AMI Primary Diploma-certified Montessori Guide & Assistant to join our collaborative community. You will prepare authentic environments, observe development, and support independence and concentration in children.

We value reflective practice, professional growth, and inclusive relationships with families. Candidates may have BC ECE licensure and First Aid certification. Sponsorship may be available for international applicants.

Qualifications

• AMI Primary Diploma/Certification
• BC ECE Licence (or ECE Assistant Licence)
• Strong understanding of authentic Montessori pedagogy
• Ability to observe, reflect, and respond to children’s developmental needs
• Ability to work collaboratively within a Montessori community
• Valid First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
• Clear Criminal Record Check

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and refine a beautiful, orderly Montessori environment
• Observe children and inform presentations and environment preparation
• Support independence, concentration, coordination, confidence, and respect
• Offer lessons and guidance per Montessori approach and individual needs
• Protect uninterrupted work and purposeful activity
• Foster a peaceful classroom community through thoughtful guidance
• Collaborate with Montessori Guide, colleagues, practicum trainees, and leadership
• Build professional relationships with children and families
• Contribute to inclusive community recognizing cultural and linguistic diversity
• Participate in ongoing reflection and professional development
