Job summary

Summit Air, a member of the Ledcor Group, is seeking an AME Apprentice in Yellowknife, NT. The role rotates 7 days on / 7 days off with 11.4-hour day and night shifts, averaging about 40 hours per week. You will work under a qualified AME to service our growing fleet across Canada.

Minimum qualifications include an Aircraft Maintenance Diploma or relevant training and owning a basic mechanics toolbox. Excellent troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance on aircraft and aircraft components as directed by the AME Team Lead
  • Perform all maintenance activities in accordance with the applicable standards of air worthiness
  • Accurately complete all paperwork for assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Perform independent and critical task checks if trained and authorized to do so
  • Troubleshoot faulty systems to determine a course of rectification in conjunction with the Lead AME
  • Perform various duties including engine runs and aircraft towing, as trained and authorized to do so
  • Conduct hangar clean up
  • Assist with sheet metal repairs as required

Position: AME Apprentice Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Yellowknife NOC: 72404

As an Apprentice AME, you are driven and self-motivated, previously having gained some experience working on large, fixed wing aircraft. Under the direction of a qualified AME, you will join our skilled team of aviation professionals at Summit Air, servicing our diverse and growing fleet. Summit Air, headquartered in Yellowknife, NWT, operates across Canada, specializing in passenger charters, cargo transport, and customized flight solutions for industry-leading clients with a legacy of excellence in northern and remote aviation. We’re growing our fleet across Canada and are seeking to hire AME Apprentice.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Conduct maintenance on aircraft and aircraft components as directed by the AME Team Lead

Working Conditions: Full Time Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off rotation with 11.4-hour day and night shifts, averaging 40 hours per week. Working outside in all weather conditions.

Compensation: $55,490 - $63,240
