Summit Air, a Ledcor Group company, seeks an experienced AME – Avionics to provide day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting on aircraft avionics. You will bring experience with large transport-category aircraft and work with a high degree of autonomy in Edmonton, AB.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance checks on avionics systems, installations, and operating avionics test equipment, while ensuring airworthiness and accurate paperwork for Crew Chief review.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years licensed avionics experience.
  • Transport Canada AME 'E' license required.
  • Experience on large transport category aircraft preferred (Dash 8, ATR 42/72, RJ85/Bae 146).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Performs day-to-day on-aircraft avionics troubleshooting and repair tasks.
  • Performs maintenance checks on avionics systems (communications, navigation, autopilot, Pitot-static, radar, power distribution, aircraft lighting).
  • Carries out various installations on aircraft.
  • Operates avionics test equipment (air data test set, navigation/communications testers, ATC ramp testers).
  • Maintains compliance with airworthiness standards.
  • Ensures paperwork for tasks is complete before submitting to Crew Chief.
  • Reports SDR situations to Crew Chief.

As the AME – Avionics you will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting support on aircraft Avionics. You will bring experience working on large, fixed wing aircrafts & looking for an opportunity that leverages your experience and gives you more autonomy.

We’re growing our fleet across Canada and are seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.

As we are growing and entering new markets to support our growing client base, we are seeking local, AME - Avionics to join our team. If you are committed to safety, professionalism, and operational excellence, we want to hear from you.

***This is a resident role based out of Edmonton, AB!

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Performs day-to-day on-aircraft Avionics troubleshooting and repair tasks

  • Performs maintenance checks on Avionics systems including but not limited to communications, navigation, autopilot, Pitot-static, radar, AC & DC power distribution and aircraft lighting

  • Carries out various installations on aircraft

  • Operates Avionics test equipment including air data test set, navigation and communications, ATC ramp testers, and other electronic test equipment

  • Performs all maintenance activities in accordance with the applicable standard(s) of airworthiness

  • Ensures all paperwork for assigned tasks is complete and accurate before submitting to Crew Chief

  • Identifies possible Service Difficulty Report (SDR) situations and reports to Crew Chief

  • Troubleshoots faulty systems to determine a course of rectification

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years’ licensed Avionics experience required

  • Transport Canada AME ‘E’ License

  • Previous experience on large transport category fixed wing aircraft; preference given to experience with Dash 8 or ATR 42/72 and/or RJ85/Bae 146 series aircraft

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft systems

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with good quality workmanship

  • Excellent listening and communication, ability to work within a timeline

  • Proven organizational and project management skills

Work Conditions:
  • This is a resident role in Edmonton, AB

  • Shift - 7 days on/ 7 days off
