Job summary

Olathe Health System, Inc. is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic Assistant (Roomer) to help ensure efficient patient flow by completing care tasks, taking vital signs, organizing exam rooms, maintaining supplies, and acting as a patient chaperone during sensitive exams.

You will obtain updated patient information, assist with visits, document findings, greet patients, register and answer phones, and collaborate with the health care team to gather outside records as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: at least 6 months of health care or clinic office experience OR enrolled in an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Schedules tests accurately; obtains films and reports.
• Rooms patients with physicians/nurses; obtains vital signs; sets patient up on MyChart and reports findings.
• Assists team in obtaining outside records during visits as delegated.
• Maintains medical records; distributes reports; handles forms related to medical charts.
• Keeps exam rooms clean and stocked; maintains supply par levels; performs required checks.
• Greet patients; clerical duties include registration, scheduling, and answering phones.
• Acts as patient chaperone during sensitive examinations when requested.
• Performs vital signs, height/weight, and initial screening; documents in medical records.
• Assists in patient transport.
• Performs professional, clinical, and technical competencies as assigned.
