Job summary

Alforno Café, part of Teatro Group, is seeking an early morning Baker for our Canmore team. The role focuses on pastry production, quality, and presentation in a busy café environment.

Ideal candidates have bakery or pastry kitchen experience, a passion for pastry, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the team. Food Safety certification is required and schedule includes early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in a bakery, café, pastry kitchen or similar food preparation role.
• An interest in pastry and baking, with care for consistency and presentation.
• The ability to follow instructions, manage priorities and work efficiently.
• A positive attitude, reliability and a collaborative approach.
• Availability for early morning shifts, weekends and holidays.
• A valid Food Safety Certificate is required to ensure safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• You will execute the daily preparation, baking and finishing of pastries and baked goods, ensuring every item meets Alforno’s standards for quality, freshness and presentation.
• Prepare, bake and finish pastries and baked items following established product guidelines.
• Monitor baking times, temperatures and product quality for consistent results.
• Coordinate daily baking quantities with the café team to meet demand and reduce waste.
• Maintain attractive presentation and prepare products for display and service.
• Follow food safety, allergen handling, storage and rotation procedures.
• Keep workstations, equipment and preparation areas clean and organized.
• Communicate product availability and preparation needs to support smooth café operations.

Alforno Café, part of Teatro Group, is looking for an early morning Baker to join our Canmore team. If you enjoy baking and pastry, take pride in beautiful presentation and work well in a busy kitchen, we would love to hear from you.

Help bring Alforno’s pastry and café experience to the Bow Valley while building your skills with an established hospitality group.

Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. This position does not offer LMIA sponsorship at this time.

What are the duties to perform?
