Job summary

SAIT is seeking an Alumni Engagement Coordinator to deliver exceptional alumni support, coordinate events, and manage volunteer activities. You will build pride and lifelong engagement among alumni, students, and donors, working closely with the Alumni Engagement Officers and Manager.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, meticulous data management in the CRM, and collaboration across SAIT schools, departments, and campus groups to promote programs and alumni perks.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or related field.
  • 2-3 years administrative or customer service role.
  • 2-3 years volunteer management experience, ideally within a post-secondary or nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline service as the first point of contact for alumni emails and calls.
  • Act as liaison with SAIT Schools/Departments and campus groups to promote alumni engagement activities and opportunities.
  • Support and coordinate engagement activities per Alumni Engagement Strategy and Real Futures Campaign Strategy.
  • Assist with Alumni and President's Awards programs including nominations and memory books.
  • Support Alumni Champions, Alumni Employees, and Alumni Reunion programs with events and email campaigns.

The Opportunity

Job classification: A5067 - Information Officer I

Salary range: $61,588.80 - $63,731.20. Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.

Hours per week: 40

Paid leave: 3 weeks vacation per year

Position End Date: March 8, 2027

SAIT's Alumni and Development department is looking for an organized and proactive Alumni Engagement Coordinator who thrives on coordination, administration, and delivering exceptional support for alumni engagement activities. Reporting to the Manager of Alumni Engagement, this role fosters pride, connection and lifelong engagement among SAIT alumni, students, and donors. As the ideal candidate, you’re a relationship-builder with a welcoming spirit and a sharp eye for detail. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoy solving problems creatively, and bring a strong background in volunteer management - from recruitment and training to coordination and recognition.

You will work closely as a cohesive team alongside the Alumni Engagement Officers to build pride and a culture of lifelong engagement with SAIT, promote Alumni & Development’s programs to students, alumni and donors. This role will have a direct influence on the success of alumni and student engagement.

How You'll Contribute
  • Provide frontline service for the Alumni Engagement team by serving as the first point of contact for emails and phone calls, assisting alumni, and maintaining alumni data in the CRM system.
  • Act as a liaison with SAIT Schools and Departments and other campus groups to promote alumni engagement activities, volunteer opportunities, student club support, alumni perks and benefits, and deliver presentations to students on graduation, alumni benefits, and engagement opportunities.
  • Support and coordinate student and alumni engagement activities identified in the Alumni Engagement Strategy and Real Futures Campaign Strategy, including tracking alumni engagement in the CRM system, recruiting, training and supervising volunteers, coordinating alumni list requests, managing class notes approvals, supporting graduation photographer sessions, processing alumni pin requests, monitoring alumni achievements, and maintaining alumni webpages and the Alumni Business Directory.
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of the Alumni and President's Awards programs by maintaining nomination forms and webpages, promoting award programs, processing nominations, preparing nomination packages for selection committees, coordinating award elements, and creating memory books for recipients as required.
  • Support the Alumni Champions, Alumni Employees, and Alumni Reunion programs by communicating with alumni employees, coordinating events and activities, assisting with reunion planning, and managing email marketing campaigns and event registrations through the CRM system.
What You Bring
Minimum
  • Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Event Management or related field
  • 2-3 years administrative or customer service role
  • 2-3 years volunteer management experience, ideally within a post-secondary or nonprofit setting
