Job summary

Paladin Airport Security Services Ltd. is seeking a Pre-Board Screening Officer at the Comox Valley Airport (YQQ) to ensure safe, smooth passenger experiences. You will screen passengers and baggage, provide information, and uphold security regulations with integrity.

Paid training begins at $23.57/hour, rising to $26.11/hour after certification. Benefits and a uniform are provided. Open shifts include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, preferably in a high-volume environment for a minimum of one year.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal; fluency in French is an asset.
• Ability to comply with CATSA medical requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Responsibilities

• Efficiently screening passengers and baggage through airport security checkpoints.
• Providing information professionally and with integrity.
• Scanning and testing baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines, metal detectors and other technology, along with physical search techniques.
• Protecting restricted areas.
• Managing conflict.
• Communicating clearly and effectively.
• Upholding all regulations with vigilance.
