Job summary

SSP Canada at Calgary International Airport is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Cook to join our airport kitchen team. You will follow recipes, prepare dishes, manage mise en place, and ensure food safety and hygiene standards.

Minimum one year in a food service environment is required; high school diploma preferred. Strong communication and basic math skills are essential, and you must be able to stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience in food service.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Verbal and written communication essential.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Food handlers permit, as required by law.
• Brand certification, as required.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes, check portions, garnish and present dishes.
• Set up kitchen stations and manage orders and stock.
• Handle, store and rotate perishable goods daily.
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning.
• Stock, cut and store supplies daily.
• Complete opening/closing control sheets upon request.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Take instructions from the manager and verify tasks.
