Role Description

The Aircraft Wheel Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for the inspection, disassembly, cleaning, repair, assembly, and testing of aircraft wheel and brake components in accordance with approved maintenance data and regulatory standards. Daily tasks include identifying wear or damage, replacing parts as required, documenting all work performed, and ensuring proper torque, pressure, and performance specifications are met. The technician will collaborate with maintenance teams, follow safety and quality procedures, maintain tools and equipment in good working order, and support continuous improvement of shop processes. The role may also involve assisting with inventory control of wheel-related components and participating in audits and compliance activities.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in aircraft maintenance and maintenance & repair, with the ability to follow approved maintenance manuals and procedures.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and aircraft systems relevant to wheel and brake assemblies, including safe removal and installation practices.
  • Understanding of powerplant and related aircraft systems interfaces as they pertain to landing gear and wheel operations.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulatory requirements (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA) and quality standards in an MRO environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, service bulletins, and component maintenance manuals.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Relevant technical training or certification in aircraft maintenance or aerospace technology; AME license or equivalent experience is an asset.
