Job summary

Air Canada in Montreal is seeking a permanent, full-time Aircraft Technician to maintain aircraft airframes at our Montreal maintenance center. The role requires a Transport Canada AME-E license or apprenticeship with 2+ years of experience.

Responsibilities include maintaining airframes, reading schematics, and using diagnostic tools and computers in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. Night shifts and weekend work are required; bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program and/or have at least 2 years of industry experience.
  • Possession of a Transport Canada AME-E license (mandatory).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license (mandatory).
  • Ability to successfully pass the pre-employment qualification exam, a physical examination, and a security background check.
  • Available to work nights, evenings, and days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass and obtain a airside vehicle operator's permit (mandatory).
  • Possession of a restricted radio operator's permit (aviation).
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transport security clearances and other additional accreditations.
  • Air Canada's medical standards must be met to qualify for this position.
  • Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must be free of any intoxicating substances.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the job offer is made.

Location: Montreal, QC, Canada (On-site)

Salary: Based on experience

  • Junior mechanic: $32.83/hour
  • Aircraft maintenance technician: up to $46.59/hour

Department: Technical Operations

Category: Unionized (IAMAW)

Shift Premium: Night - $2.50 for each hour worked between 11 PM and 7 AM

Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill the permanent, full-time position of Aircraft Technician at our Montreal maintenance center.

Aircraft technicians are responsible for maintaining aircraft airframes and must possess the following skills:

  • Ability to use the proper tools, methods, techniques, and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance.
  • Candidates must be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
  • Candidates must be team players, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to maintain a customer-oriented attitude in a demanding and high-stress environment.
  • They must also be able to work independently, utilizing telephone and computer resources. Self-motivation and self-confidence are assets.
