Job summary

Air Canada in Vancouver, BC, is seeking permanent full-time Aircraft Technicians/ Aircraft Maintenance Engineers for the Vancouver maintenance center. On-site role with shift requirements including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized trade apprenticeship program or at least four years of relevant industry experience
  • Transport Canada M2 or M1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license (mandatory)
  • Valid driver’s license (mandatory)
  • Successful pre-employment exam, physical exam, and security check
  • Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willingness to assume the night shift (this is the permanent shift offered with this posting; possibility of changing shifts based on seniority)
  • Ability to obtain an airside vehicle operator's permit (mandatory)
  • Restricted Operator Certificate (Aeronautical)
  • Ability to pass the Transport Canada security screening and obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • Employees occupying this safety-critical position must meet Air Canada's medical requirements to be eligible. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including drug and alcohol screening, and must not be under the influence of intoxicating substances.
  • Punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable transportation security clearances and additional accreditations, depending on the workplace.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the country concerned at the time the job offer is made.

Air Canada is currently looking for dynamic individuals to fill permanent full-time positions for aircraft technicians or aircraft maintenance engineers at its Vancouver maintenance center.

Aircraft technicians / aircraft maintenance engineers are responsible for airframe maintenance and must possess the following skills:

  • ability to use appropriate tools, methods, techniques, and equipment to maintain aircraft;
  • ability to read and understand various schematics for maintenance troubleshooting and mastery of computer and diagnostic tools;
  • good team spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to maintain a customer-focused attitude in a highly demanding work environment.
