Job summary

Air Canada is seeking a full-time Aircraft Technician for the Calgary Maintenance Centre near Calgary International Airport, Richmond. The salary is based on experience and governed by the Collective Agreement. The position is onsite in Calgary.

You will perform aircraft maintenance, interpret schematics, and use diagnostic tools while maintaining a team-focused, safety-conscious approach. Candidates must hold a TC AME-E license, a valid driver’s license, and pass required pre-employment checks.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or 2+ years industry experience.
  • Transport Canada AME-E license (Mandatory).
  • Valid driver’s license (Mandatory).
  • Must pass pre-employment exam, medical, and security checks.
  • Availability to work nights, evenings, days including weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to obtain airside vehicle operator’s permit (Mandatory).
  • Possession of restricted radio operator’s permit (aviation).
  • Must obtain and maintain applicable transportation security clearances.
  • Punctuality and dependability expected for a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety-critical work; Air Canada medical standards must be met.

Responsibilities

  • Use correct tools, methods, and equipment to perform aircraft maintenance.
  • Read and understand schematics for maintenance troubleshooting; use computers/diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain customer-focused attitude; work as a team in a high-stress environment.
  • Work independently with remote resources while remaining self-motivated.

Air Canada is presently looking for dynamic individuals to fill the full-time position of Aircraft Technician at our Calgary Maintenance Centre

The position is located near Calgary International Airport, Richmond. The salary will be based on experience and according to the Collective Agreement.

Responsibilities
  • Ability to use the correct tools, methods, techniques and equipment required to perform aircraft maintenance.
  • Candidates should be able to read and understand various schematic diagrams for maintenance troubleshooting and be proficient with computers and diagnostic tools.
  • Individuals need to be "team players" with excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain a customer focused attitude in a demanding, high stress environment.
  • Must also have ability to work independently, with resources via phone and computer. Being self-motivated and confident is an asset

Qualifications
  • High School diploma.
  • You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program, and/or have a least 2 years industry related experience.
  • Possession of a Transport Canada AME-E license (Mandatory)
  • Possession of valid driver's license (Mandatory)
  • Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical and a security check.
  • Be available to work night, evenings and days including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to Pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit (Mandatory)
  • Possession of restricted radio operators permit (aviation).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations depending on the work location. Please refer to Transport Canada site for more details.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
  • Employees in this role, conduct safety-critical work and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position
