Job summary

Voyageur Aviation Corp. in North Bay, Ontario, is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to maintain, repair, overhaul, modify and test electrical, electronic, and radio systems on the CRJ and DH8 fleet.

You will perform modifications, troubleshoot failures, and conduct maintenance per Transport Canada and company procedures, with a 40-hour work week and starting pay of 32.90 CAD per hour. The role requires an AME license Category E, TC-approved education, strong reading of manuals, good

Qualifications

• Valid AME license (Cat E) and TC-approved education.
• CRJ/DH8 experience considered an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, overhaul, modify and test electrical, electronic, instrument and radio systems on CRJ and DH8.
• Assemble, modify and repair electrical harnesses.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions per manuals and data packages.
• Perform bench assessments and repair of components per manuals.
• Troubleshoot systems, identify problems and repair per drawings and procedures.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per Transport Canada and company policies.
• Ensure maintenance operations comply with approved data and procedures.
• Promote safety culture and report hazards through the Safety Management System.

Job description

As a key member of the Avionics team, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will report to Supervisor, Avionics, and will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, overhauling, modifying, and testing electrical, electronic, instrument and radio systems-components on our CRJ and DH8 fleet. This is a full-time, permanent position located at our North Bay, ON facilities.

• Carry out major and minor modification to electronic systems, including communication and navigation systems, as per technical manuals, drawings, and data packages.
• Assemble, modify, and repair various electrical harness assemblies.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical malfunctions or other related problems in the aircraft as per technical manuals, drawings, and data packages.
• Carry out bench assessments and repair of various aircraft components in accordance with the applicable component maintenance manuals.
• Troubleshoot aircraft systems to identify problems and adjust/repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals, and established procedures.
• Perform and document scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance as required by Transport Canada, the manufacturer, and Voyageur’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with approved data and company policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in Voyageur’s safety culture, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations through our Safety Management System, and understand and comply with and promote the company’s safety culture.

Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:

• Valid AME License (Category E).
• CRJ or DH8 Experience and/or endorsements considered an asset.
• College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational institution.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, and other technical publications.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions.
• Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with high attention to detail.
• Able to learn and retain knowledge and skills shared by senior staff.
• Mentor junior staff when required.
