Job summary

Babcock Canada is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to be based at our Prince Rupert, BC facility. You will report to the Crew Chief and ensure maintenance and repair tasks comply with Canadian Aviation regulations and company policies.

The ideal candidate holds a TC M1/M2 AME license, has experience on rotary-wing aircraft (AW169 preferred), and can work shifts. English proficiency and strong organizational skills are required to deliver safe, reliable service to our defence and civil

Qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada M1 and/or M2 AME license.
  • Experience on rotary-wing assets, ideally AW169.
  • Experience with CAMP or similar maintenance programs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, adjust, diagnose, and repair AW169 aircraft.
  • Create and complete task cards and work packs in CAMP.
  • Operate specialized aviation tools, diagnostic equipment and power tools.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and keep accurate records.
  • Adhere to safety policies and transportation regulations.

Expected Salary: $68,806 to $118,806

To determine final salary, Babcock considers a variety of factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience and internal equity. The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Description

Babcock is currently recruiting for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to be based in on our Prince Rupert British Columbia facility. All AMEs will be responsible to Crew Chief for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks assigned to them. All while ensuring compliance with Babcock Canada’s Policies and Procedures and the Canadian Aviation regulations.

In this role, you will:
  • Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair AW169 aircraft.
  • Create and complete task cards and work packs in CAMP.
  • Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted.
  • Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for tasks/jobs.
  • Maintain a clean and productive work area.
  • Conduct aircraft cleaning duties of interior and exterior (excluding medical biohazards).
  • Work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to the Safety & Health Policy Statement, Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual, Company Policies and Procedures, and the MPM.
  • Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard, incident, or accident.
  • Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate brings:
  • A valid Transport Canada M1 and/or M2 AME license.
  • Experience working on a rotary-wing asset, ideally on Leonardo Helicopters AW-Family aircraft, in particular, the AW169.
  • Demonstrated experience working on CAMP or other similar maintenance programs.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • The physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
  • The physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
  • The physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces.
  • The ability and willingness to undertake shift work.
  • Comfortability working at height.
  • Eligibility for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
  • The right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
  • A valid driver’s license.
