Job summary

SMARTFOX is seeking an AI Consultant to meet with client executives, assess data, and design AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, and related technologies. You will prototype and productionize with major cloud platforms, collaborating with data engineers to deliver ROI-focused roadmaps.

You’ll guide responsible AI practices, communicate complex tradeoffs to executives, and run workshops to drive adoption and sustainable change within client organizations.

Qualifications

• Solid foundations in data and AI: Python, SQL, and ML/LLM concepts.
• Hands-on experience building AI solutions in real projects.
• Clear communication: explain models to CFO and business problems to engineers.
• Curiosity about how businesses work with a results-first mindset.
• Comfort with ambiguity in client problems.
• Degree or diploma in a relevant field or equivalent experience; portfolio counts.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Meet with client executives to identify high-value AI opportunities and separate use cases from hype.
• Assess data readiness, workflows, risks, and ROI; translate into roadmaps and business cases.
• Design and prototype AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, agents, classification, forecasting, and computer vision.
• Build PoCs and production pilots with Python and cloud platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face).
• Collaborate with data engineers and developers to connect solutions to client systems and data pipelines.
• Evaluate models for accuracy, cost, latency, bias, and safety; establish testing approaches.
• Guide responsible AI practices including privacy, governance, security, and human oversight.
• Translate technical tradeoffs into plain language for executives and translate business needs into technical requirements for engineers.
• Run workshops, demos, and training to help client teams adopt AI.
• Support change management so tools stick after projects end.
• Contribute to proposals and reusable assets; share learnings with the team.
• Career progression: AI Consultant I/II/Senior with defined promotion criteria.
