Job summary

Toast is recruiting on behalf of a global professional services firm to hire a Manager, ML/AI Engineer who will work directly with clients, architect AI solutions end to end, and ensure reliable operation in the cloud and on-prem. This is a full-time, hands-on role based in Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary.

You will lead ML model development, oversee production pipelines, and foster governance and responsible AI practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, data science, math, or a similar field.
• 5+ years in machine learning, data science, or AI engineering, including shipping ML solutions to production.
• Advanced Python for analysis, modelling, and engineering work.
• Hands-on experience with ML libraries and platforms such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Databricks, or Azure ML.

Responsibilities

• Identify business problems where AI and analytics can help.
• Architect end-to-end ML/AI solutions from data to deployment.
• Build models for demand forecasting, recommendations, classification, and anomaly detection.
• Design and refine generative AI solutions across Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.
• Set up production ML pipelines with testing, versioning, CD, and monitoring.
• Maintain model health: performance tracking, drift detection, retraining.
