Job summary

Toast, a global leader in hospitality technology, is seeking a Manager of Software Delivery to lead AI-enabled modernization programs in Canada. You will blend hands-on technical direction with people management, guiding delivery workstreams and shaping architecture for client engagements in Montreal or Quebec City.

The role requires 7+ years of software leadership experience, strong C#/.NET and Azure skills, and fluency in French and English.

Toast is recruiting on behalf of a global Big Four professional services firm with more than 10,000 people across Canada, hiring a Manager, Software Delivery Developer for its Gen AI and Software Delivery team in Montreal or Quebec City. The team helps major organizations modernize their applications, speed up software delivery, and bring responsible AI practices into every stage of the development lifecycle. In this full-time role, you will blend hands-on technical leadership with people management and client delivery, leading development workstreams, shaping architecture and engineering decisions, and mentoring developers as clients adopt modern, AI-accelerated ways of building software.

Responsibilities

• Lead software delivery workstreams for custom applications, cloud-native platforms, integrations, APIs, and modernization programs
• Provide hands-on technical direction across design, development, testing, deployment, and production readiness
• Translate business needs into practical technical solutions, delivery plans, estimates, and team backlogs
• Review architecture, code, test strategies, release plans, and technical deliverables
• Coach and mentor senior consultants and consultants on engineering practices, technical problem solving, and client delivery
• Guide teams in using AI-assisted engineering responsibly across requirements, design, coding, testing, documentation, and support
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, product owners, designers, data teams, security teams, and client stakeholders
• Support proposal development, solution shaping, estimation, and statements of work
• Identify technical risks and drive mitigation plans with the team and client stakeholders

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing, building, and delivering software solutions
• Experience leading developers or technical delivery workstreams in consulting, enterprise, or product environments
• Strong development experience with C# and .NET, plus one or more modern languages or frameworks such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python
• Experience designing and delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure, including application, integration, data, DevOps, or cloud-native services
• Knowledge of APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, integration patterns, databases, and secure development practices
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, version control, observability, and release management
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business and technical audiences
• Entrepreneurial spirit, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Written and oral fluency in both French and English
• University degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

• Experience with Next.js would be a plus
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, Gen AI patterns, prompt engineering for delivery tasks, or AI-accelerated SDLC practices is considered an asset
