Job summary

Southwestern Public Health is seeking a temporary AI Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of AI, automation, and digital innovation initiatives across the organization. The role focuses on secure, maintainable AI-enabled tools, data integrations, and automation solutions that support business processes and service delivery.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will translate operational needs into scalable technical solutions, with governance and privacy

Qualifications

University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, or related discipline.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum three years of experience developing software, automation, data engineering, or AI solutions.
Experience designing cloud-based solutions and system integrations.
Experience with APIs, automation platforms, and enterprise software environments.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled tools and applications to support organizational priorities.
Develop solutions using Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform, and related technologies.
Create AI agents, workflows, and automation solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Collaborate with business teams to translate operational requirements into technical solutions.
Lead data architecture design to support AI applications and automation initiatives.
Document system architecture, technical specifications, and implementation approaches.
Ensure solutions align with cybersecurity, privacy, and information management requirements.
