Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking an AI Scientist to join the AI Value Creation team. Design, train, and optimize ML models; develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions using LLMs, RAG, and multi-agent systems; collaborate with business partners to translate needs into practical AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, AI, Math, Statistics, OR related field.
• 3–5 years of production ML model development, training, validation, deployment.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG, or agentic AI technologies.
• Strong Python and SQL skills for analytics and AI solutions.
• Experience with cloud environments and tools (AWS, Snowflake, Git, Jenkins).

Within the Personal Banking Data Management and Value Creation sector, you will join a team of seven colleagues and report to the Senior Director, AI Delivery. Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience developing, training, validating, and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architectures, or agentic systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for developing analytics and AI solutions.
• Experience with cloud environments and development tools such as AWS, Snowflake, Git, GitHub Copilot, and Jenkins.
• Demonstrated ability to work on multidisciplinary initiatives that combine technical expertise with business needs.
