Job summary

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, in Toronto, seeks a Legal Technologist to join the Innovation department. This hands-on role designs and builds automated workflows, APIs, integrations and AI-powered tools powering how lawyers and clients work.

You will develop data pipelines, AI-assisted applications and internal tooling, while maintaining technical infrastructure and serving as a technical point of contact with vendors and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Engineering or related technical field.
• Hands-on API/back-end development experience.
• Familiarity with REST, JSON, XML and web services.
• Exposure to AI/LLMs preferred.
• Power Platform experience is a plus.
• Experience in a professional services or law firm environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain APIs, integrations and internal tooling.
• Develop custom software solutions and workflow automations.
• Contribute to client portals and internal collaboration tools.
• Support AI-assisted apps, including document analysis and research tools.
• Evaluate and implement AI solutions using LLM APIs.
• Define and implement data strategy for AI, analytics and reporting.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, dashboards and data models.
• Serve as technical point of contact with vendors and stakeholders.
• Stay current on legal tech and AI developments.
