Job summary

Magical in Canada is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of up to 12 engineers as we scale our AI platform for healthcare. This is a deeply technical, product-minded leadership role near architecture and customer problems, not about ceremonies or ticket tracking.

You will drive technical decisions, hire and coach engineers, and partner with Product, Design, Deployment, Security, and GTM to deliver reliable, scalable production systems with strong execution and clear direction.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading engineering teams
• Experience building AI platform components
• Familiarity with healthcare security requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2) and compliance
• Ability to translate product and customer problems into technical plans

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of up to 12 engineers and manage performance
• Drive technical decisions and architectural reviews
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Deployment, Security, and GTM teams
• Hire, onboard, and coach engineers; raise talent bar
• Own delivery velocity, quality, and incident response in production systems
• Turn ambiguous problems into executable plans with clear ownership
