AltaML Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Software Engineer to work AI-first by default, using Claude Code and AltaML's shared libraries for daily design, implementation, and review.

You will own small-to-medium stories, write tests, and contribute to documentation while collaborating across teams to improve confidence and speed. In this role, you will build fluency in AltaML/AltaForge libraries, independently make technical decisions, and participate in code reviews to raise overall quality and

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on comfort with an AI coding assistant (Claude Code) as part of daily work.
• Strong fundamentals in testing and Git; skilled in Python, TypeScript, or C#.
• Experience with a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
• Familiarity with LangChain, vector databases, and LLM APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Main contributor for small-to-medium complexity stories and implementing patterns new to AltaML/AltaForge.
• Use Claude Code and AltaML's shared CLAUDE.md/skills library as the default workflow for design, implementation, and review.
• Write comprehensive automated tests and clear documentation for novel code to ensure long-term stability.
• Provide constructive feedback during code reviews to improve peers' work.
• Build fluency in AltaML/AltaForge libraries and make sound technical choices independently.
