Job summary

Lazer Technologies, a remote-first digital product studio with a global team, seeks an experienced engineering leader to co-own the AI engineering function. You will guide a large, senior team across multiple engagements, balancing delivery, people growth, and technical excellence.

You will mentor leaders, shape strategy for agentic applications, and ensure high-impact outcomes for clients while maintaining strong engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience with 3+ years managing senior engineers
• Experience leading teams of 15+ engineers across multiple projects
• Hands-on technically: read architectures, spot flaws, propose improvements
• Strong full-stack depth: TS, React, Node.js, Python/Go

Responsibilities

• Co-own AI engineering team of roughly 30 forward deployed engineers
• Manage team health through regular 1:1s and address burnout
• Lead performance reviews using the FDE rubric balancing consulting and tech
• Level up Forward Deployed Engineers via training, playbooks, and mentoring
• Track engagement health and surface delivery risks early
