Job summary

Ciena is seeking a student intern for a 4-month term starting January 2027 within the Services BI & Analytics team in Montreal. You will contribute to data reporting and advanced analytics initiatives, including ML/AI capabilities, moving from operational reporting to insights that influence decisions across sales and post-sales services.

Key activities include enhancing the Call Analytics tool with sentiment analysis, helping forecast costs with the Cost Profiling tool, and supporting KPI

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with data science coursework.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities for stakeholder collaboration.
• Able to deliver on-time in a remote, global-time-zone environment.
• Independent, detail-oriented, and capable of prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the Call Analytics tool with advanced sentiment analysis and quality scoring.
• Contribute to the design and development of the Cost Profiling tool to forecast project costs.
• Contribute to KPI Outlier Detection development to provide executives with warning signals.
• Assist in the design and development of Order Plan forecasting for long-term business evolution.
