At Crop Intelligence we are on a mission to deliver our customers timely insights to grow the most with the water available to their crops!
We’re looking for a great person to join our team in the Agronomy Innovation Manager role to help us achieve this!

What does the role look like?

You will be working with our team across Western Canada to:

  • Lead and action the development, research and communication of agronomic insights in the Crop Intelligence application
  • Engage our customer, agronomy partner and vendor community around those insights by sharing agronomic knowledge, training, and processes to execute.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and action our insight development pipeline focusing on the insights best suited to help our customers capture the potential of the water available to their crop.
    • Collect potential insights and strategies through collaboration with our customers, vendors, academic partners and general industry engagement.
    • Build out insights and new strategies to increase a customer’s ability to capture their full yield potential, mitigate yield loss or maximize profitability as identified by current or novel sensor information.
    • Develop and execute trials to demonstrate and validate insights provided.
    • Work with our Hardware Team and Development Team to deliver the insights you have validated.
  • Build and action processes to assist our customers, vendors and partners in executing on the insights provided by our products.
    • Develop process to communicate and integrate insights and strategies on the ground to capture yield potential, mitigate yield loss or maximize profitability.
    • Document all steps, manage expectations, train customers/vendors/partners and create tools to follow up on the quality of insights delivered.
  • Train and support TBA’s (Territory Business Agronomists), vendors and partners in agronomic knowledge and Crop Intelligence’s agronomic value.
    • Develop internal training for TBA’s to ensure they can execute on the CI value with customers/vendors/partners.
    • Travel with TBA’s to complete agronomic focused training for our customers/vendors/partners.
    • Support TBA’s in local agronomic demonstrations specific to their geographies
  • Liaise with agronomic research partners in our geography.
    • Manage University, Polytechnic, College research collaborator partnerships.
    • Manage Agronomic focused partnerships with Producer and Government groups
What are we looking for?
  • You understand business is a team sport and are energized by working in a team environment, looking for wins for both sides in all your interactions
  • You have a passion for agronomy, always looking for new insights by connecting the data generated from our hardware to solve real world problems
  • You want to continually develop your skills, having achieved your bachelor’s degree, PAg designation and CCA, and enjoy staying connected to new developments in the world of agronomy (Applicants must be registered or need to become registered with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists as defined by The Agrologists Act).
  • You have a strong drive to build long term relationships and increase the experience for both our vendors and our customers
  • You are energized by speaking in front of groups and engaging the audience to participate
  • You have experience for three or more years working as an Agronomist in a field or research capacity.
  • You have created a strong system to organize yourself to handle multiple priorities throughout the day.
  • You have a high drive to succeed inside a flexible schedule – this is not an 8-5 job – our business is seasonal and requires us to be flexible to meet our customers’ needs.
  • You enjoy the road! Traveling to meet with customers, vendors, and collaborators 30% of your time.
  • You are based 70% of your time at our White City office living within a 45-minute drive of the White City Saskatchewan area or willing to relocate to the area.
