Requirements
- Civil engineering or related technical field program considered an asset
- Background in aggregate use in road building, concrete, and asphalt production
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform in a highly functional team environment
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills
- Maintain G class Driver's License
- Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 25 kilograms
- Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as assigned
Day in The Life
As an
Aggregate Lab Technician, you will support quality control processes through aggregate testing in the lab. This includes collecting samples and performing tests such as Sieve Analysis, Micro-Deval Abrasion, Unconfined Freeze Thaw, MgSO4 Soundness loss, while ensuring all procedures comply with safety and quality standards. You will calibrate testing equipment, document and report results, and communicate findings to the Lab or Site Supervisor. The role requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, a solid understanding of testing procedures, familiarity with Miller materials, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
