Job summary

Sophos is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, build and support AI-powered cybersecurity capabilities. You’ll work on cloud-native microservices and REST APIs in Python, collaborating with leads and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable services and customer value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience delivering production code.
• Experience designing cloud-native microservices and REST APIs in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain cloud-native microservices and REST APIs using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Contribute to LLM-powered applications and supporting services for development, deployment, observation and operation.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management and DevOps to deliver secure, scalable services.
• Write clear, maintainable, tested code and participate in peer reviews and code reviews.
• Work with AWS services, containers and CI/CD pipelines to support production readiness.
