Job summary

AVL Manufacturing Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario, is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for an afternoon shift (4:00 PM–2:30 AM, Monday to Thursday).

You will manage inbound/outbound shipments, coordinate with carriers, and support production planning, inventory control, and shipping documentation. The role requires experience in logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing, plus strong organizational skills and proficiency with ERP and shipping platforms.

Qualifications

Proven experience in logistics, warehousing and manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and shipping platforms (FedEx/Purolator/UPS).
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and ERP.

Responsibilities

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensure timely delivery of materials and goods, and safely load/unload trucks.
Negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers for cost-effective transportation and border services.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve transport or border issues.
Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to maintain inventory levels and manage stock replenishment using the ERP system.
Ensure inventory is received, labelled, and movements are recorded in the inventory system.
Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies in records.
Coordinate with suppliers to manage lead times, delivery schedules, and order quantities.
Support production planning by providing timely information on material availability and delivery status.
Prepare and manage shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, hazardous materials handling, and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and movements.
Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and reduce costs.
Implement SOPs and best practices in logistics management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and lean initiatives.
Serve as point of contact for customers and suppliers regarding logistics inquiries and order status.
Resolve logistical issues and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Build and maintain relationships with logistics providers and customers.
Evaluate performance of vendors and negotiate contracts to improve service quality.
