Job summary

Aerotek in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Forklift Operator for the afternoon shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) in a fast-paced food manufacturing warehouse.

You will operate counterbalance and reach forklifts, load/unload materials, perform inspections, follow GMP/HACCP safety standards, and support shipping, receiving, and inventory control. This is an onsite contract position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift certification for electric counterbalance and reach truck.
• Experience operating counterbalance and reach forklifts in warehouse/ production settings.
• 3 years GMP production experience including loading production lines.
• Ability to work safely in freezer areas.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and health & safety standards.
• Able to operate forklifts safely in narrow aisles.
• Reliable, independent worker with strong attention to safety.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate counterbalance and reach forklifts safely and efficiently in tight spaces and congested aisles.
• Load, unload, move, and store materials throughout the warehouse and production areas.
• Perform pre-operational and ongoing equipment inspections and report issues.
• Follow safety procedures, GMPs, and food manufacturing standards.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including loading/unloading trailers.
• Maintain accurate material movement and inventory handling to support production.
• Work in a fast-paced environment meeting productivity and safety expectations.
• Assist with general warehouse duties such as folding and packing.
• Handle products in freezer/refrigerated areas following safety guidelines.
• Adhere to company policies and health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and leads for smooth operations.
• Adapt to changing priorities and high-volume activities.
• Work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
