Job summary

Aerotek is hiring for a Punch Press (CNC-Laser) Operator on an afternoon shift in Brampton, ON. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC punch press and laser equipment to produce metal parts from start to finish on the production line.

You will read blueprints, perform quality checks, document data, and ensure safety and efficiency on a busy team. The position is a contract role based out of Brampton with an onsite work environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders and work instructions.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery and lifting devices.
• Document production, downtime and quality data accurately and update SPC daily.
• Move materials using lifting devices and handle loads up to 50+ lbs.
• Collaborate with lead hand and team to ensure start-to-finish operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC punch press and laser machines to produce parts per work orders and drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine job requirements.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on laser and punch press equipment.
• Load raw materials, inspect incoming material for quality; unload and inspect finished parts.
• Perform quality checks using calipers and measuring tape; document data accurately.
• Update SPC data daily to support process monitoring and improvement.
• Troubleshoot minor faults to maintain production flow.
