Job summary

Wesley in Hamilton is seeking a dynamic Child and Youth Worker for a part-time, contract position for the 2026-2027 period. The After-School Program serves Grades 1 to 6 in Beasley, Hess and Lake Ave locations, at 15 hours per week and $19.99 per hour.

Applicants should hold a relevant diploma and have experience with children and community partners; bilingualism and a valid driver’s license are assets. The role emphasizes equity, inclusion and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience working with children 6–12 years and community partners.
• Strong written and oral communications; able to interact with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, promote, implement and evaluate day to day operations of after-school programs.
• Adhere to funder requirements and guidelines provided by the Supervisor, Early Years.
• Oversee placements, volunteers and staffing; complete evaluations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child development and provide engaging supervision.
• Ensure enrollment targets are maintained and attendance procedures followed.
• Promote community engagement and maintain relationships with schools and programs.
