Job summary

La Tablée des Chefs seeks a Consultant Chef Trainer to deliver weekly culinary workshops in Canadian schools. You’ll guide teenagers through basic techniques using provided materials and ensure content readiness.

Fees are CAD 125 per workshop, with an estimated 4–5 hours weekly commitment. The 24-week mandate runs after school hours and requires a criminal background check due to youth contact. You’ll collaborate with participating establishments and manage ingredients within budget.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about food and cooking.
• Be skilled in animation and teaching.
• Comfortable with teenagers (12–17 years old).
• Be empathetic, flexible, and able to adapt to the diverse realities of vulnerable youth.
• Be autonomous, organized and responsible.
• Have completed a DEP in cooking, a training in nutrition or equivalent, an asset.
• Experience in facilitation or education, an asset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one culinary workshop of 2 - 2.5 hours per week as part of the mandate.
• Teach participants basic cooking techniques and guide them through recipe preparation.
• Deliver each workshop using the educational materials provided by La Tablée des Chefs and ensure preparation with the workshop content beforehand.
• Purchase the ingredients required for workshop recipes (budget allocated).
• Collaborate with the participating establishment to coordinate culinary challenges (Kitchen Brigades).
• Provide the administrative documentation required for the mandate (e.g., invoices, evaluation questionnaires).
