Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Member in good standing with their relevant Professional Regulatory Body (e.g. College of Nurses of Ontario).
• BLS required.
• Demonstrated leadership experience (≥3 years) in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with bed allocator, registration clerk, shift leads and on‑call leaders to allocate bed space safely and efficiently.
• Be visible and accessible to staff, providing guidance for complex situations and mentoring colleagues.
• Support patients and families when higher administrative authority is needed and interpret BCHS policies as required.
• Maintain an accurate log of incidents requiring managerial intervention and coordinate follow‑up with directors and managers.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional practice improvements.
